The braided mane runs along the crest in a dark line of precise, repeating pattern that is the single note of graphic contrast in an otherwise nearly monochromatic composition, defining the topline of the neck the way a pencil line defines the edge of a drawing — with economy, clarity, and complete authority. The horse's eye is just visible at the lower right of the frame, dark and quiet, its presence grounding the abstraction with a reminder that this is a living animal rather than a sculpture, though the distinction feels at moments genuinely philosophical.
