Ocean's Edge is a portrait of extraordinary restraint and beauty — a black Andalusian stallion in close profile against the pale blue expanse of the French Mediterranean coast, the cool grey-blue of the ocean and sky behind him providing a backdrop of such quiet, sustained luminosity that the horse's dark form seems to emerge from the light rather than stand against it.
