Three horses — one black, two white — run together through deep Wyoming snow in a composition so graphically powerful it barely needs a landscape to contain it. The white snow and white sky dissolve into a single seamless background, leaving only the horses themselves: the dark one driving forward with mane flying and snow exploding from its hooves, the pale one flowing behind like its own reflection. It is equine fine art photography at its most elemental — color reduced to its most fundamental contrast, motion frozen at its most dynamic, and two horses doing what horses have always done in the open country of the American West.
