The ocean does not always need to be sharp to be true. In Lavender Tide, Tamara Gooch uses intentional camera movement to transform a Florida wave into something that exists at the precise boundary between photography and painting — the water rendered not as frozen fact but as felt experience, the motion of the wave and the motion of the camera combining to produce a image of extraordinary softness and atmospheric depth.
