Behind the Lens
The Tetons are often photographed in the sharp, golden light of sunrise, but I find their true soul in the quiet moments of the blue hour. I arrived at Oxbow Bend before dawn, waiting for the heavy river mist to settle just enough to reveal the massive face of Mount Moran. There is a specific, hushed frequency to the air in Wyoming during these damp, cool mornings. I wanted to capture the "visual silence" of the reflection—the point where the mountain and its mirror image become one. This photograph is an invitation to slow down and breathe with the landscape.
