Shot in near darkness, a single thread of light traces the arched neck of a dark bay horse from poll to muzzle — the tightly knotted braids of the mane forming a precise sculptural ridge down its center, warm amber and deep mahogany tones emerging from the black like embers. The horse is barely there. And yet completely present.
This is abstract equestrian art of the highest order. The composition is architectural — all curve, shadow, and restrained light — yet it pulses with warmth and life. It asks nothing of the viewer except to look, and rewards that looking with something different every time. A texture. A glow. A shape that shouldn't be as beautiful as it is.
